Subhita's special interests are in the treatment of breast cancer, with particular interest in pre-menopausal women and the role of breast density in breast cancer risk. She also has specific expertise in endocrine surgery of the thyroid. Having graduated from the School of Medicine in Calicut, India in 1995 and qualified in general surgery in Malaysia in 2000 through the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. She was awarded a two year Breast and Endocrine Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2010, which she completed at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She is a Breast and Endocrine Consultant and head of the unit in the Lyell McEwin Hospital Surgical Oncology Unit where she is actively involved with teaching medical students and surgical trainees, as well as performing breast and endocrine surgery. Subhita is also a visiting specialist with Breast Screen South Australia.

Due to physical distancing measures if you have a new diagnosis of cancer, a disability, or require support we are sensitive to your needs and a support person can attend with you.
